1. First, go to tsa.gov, the official website, and then pick an enrollment provider that is right for you. 
2. Choose the closest enrollment center and select either pre-enrolling online or scheduling a visit in person. 
3. Online registration will take only five minutes. 
4. To complete your enrollment, you will have to go to the enrollment center and pay, provide fingerprints and photographs, and your documents. 
5. The amount will vary because each enrollment provider charges variably. 
6. Once your application is complete, wait for approval, generally taking 3-5 days, but it can take as long as two months. 
7. Do yourself a favor and apply for renewal two months before your TSA PreCheck expires. 
8. If approved, you will be given your Known Traveler Number which you would add to your reservation for the TSA logo to appear on your boarding pass.

Are Kids Allowed to Apply for TSA PreCheck?

• Accompanying children under 12 have no restrictions when traveling with their parents using TSA PreCheck lanes. However, the parent must be TSA-enrolled with whom the child is traveling. The child must be on the same reservation as their enrolled parent or guardian to utilize the TSA PreCheck facilities.
• However, the rule must be different for children 13 years old and 17 years old. If the children are traveling alone or without a TSA-enrolled parent or guardian then, they will not be eligible for a faster security screening. Only they will have a TSA Logo on their boarding passes if they are traveling with their parents who are enrolled in this program. Adults with accompanying minors with gate passes must go through the standard screening. Gate passes are not part of the TSAPrexcheck facility.
• Children between 13 and 17 years of age, even though accompanied by a gate pass holder, will not be eligible for expedited screening if traveling alone or without a TSA-enrolled parent/guardian and will require standard screening.
